Elizabeth Stewart Change of Address A local historian relocating from the East Coast to the Seattle, Washington area approached Pritchard Design about creating a unique change-of-address mailer. To maintain continuity with current clients while moving to take a new job at a local history museum in Renton, Washington, Elizabeth Stewart needed an inexpensive mailer that nevertheless stressed her experienced background and reinforced her commitment to current projects. Pritchard Design chose to develop a piece that had the look of a vintage postcard. The front carries an old Currier & Ives image, “Through to the Pacific,” playing on Stewart’s move, while the back imparts all the important contact information changes through a variety of block serif fonts, in the style of a turn-of-the-century broadsheet. Printed colors were aptly muted to mimic the effects of aging, capturing the look and feel of an age gone by and reinforcing the function of the piece.
